Projects of 71,850 crore inaugurated, 3 new express trains flagged off Projects Narendra Modi PM Narendra Modi paid his first visit to 5 states in this tour.

September 15, 2025 — PM Narendra Modi has already visited five states, Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar between 13 and 15 September, and inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of projects with an enormous value of 71,850 crore.

The visit can be considered as one of the biggest multi-state outreach programs of the Prime Minister in recent months, which was intended to improve the infrastructure, connectivity, and economic development in the eastern and northeastern parts of India.

Enhancing Regional Interconnectivity.

One of the best moments during the tour was the release of three new express trains, which will enhance passenger convenience and reinforce the rail connectivity in the densely populated, as well as strategically important, belt of the northeast and east India. The railway has been part of the vision of Modi in his Viksit Bharat and these new routes are set to ease the time of travel, enhance trade flow, and ensure commuting is a safer and efficient process.

During his speeches on the flagging-off events, the Prime Minister emphasized that modern rail infrastructure is not just a matter of convenience but also regional integration so that smaller towns and cities should not be kept in the backyard of mainstream development.

Infrastructure Push: 71, 850 Crores Projects.

The magnitude of the investments announced is tremendous 71850 crore worth of projects which include roads, bridges, airports, railways, renewable energy and urban development.

In Mizoram and Manipur, attention was directed towards border infrastructure and highways, which serve two purposes namely to increase civilian ease in travelling as well as to strengthen national security in border areas.

In Assam, energy projects, especially hydro-electric and renewable energy were laid stress in order to transform the state into a green power generation centre.

New urban development projects were initiated in West Bengal, such as metro system and water supply system upgrades in Kolkata and neighboring towns.

The rural development in Bihar took center stage and irrigation, housing and road projects were made to uplift the villages and provide them with a chance to employ the young people.

Northeast and East Indian vision.

The northeastern states have been experiencing underdevelopment, challenging terrain, and disconnectivity issues over the decades. Throughout his speeches, Prime Minister Modi continued to emphasize that his government saw the northeast as the engine of growth of New India.

During one of his addresses to a population in Assam, he said that whether it is highways or railways or the internet highways, we are making sure that opportunity is equally available to each and every corner of this nation.

The focus on East and Northeast India is also political in nature. The enormous investment announcements are likely to enhance the reach of Bharatiya Janata Party in areas where political rivalry is still high, as there are several key state elections approaching.

The Trains as the Symbol of Development.

The three new express trains that were commissioned in this tour were hailed with great excitement. People came together at the railway stations to welcome the Prime Minister waving flags and singing slogans.

These trains are not only a means of comfort, but a sign of progress to ordinary citizens - the faster, the more trade, more tourist opportunities, and more convenient access to healthcare facilities and other educational institutions in larger cities.

A Political and Developmental Statement.

It is observed that the five states tour is a developmental mission and political statement. As the 2026 is an important year in many state elections, the huge project roll is an obvious indicator, and the attendance of Modi at the ground level conveys a substantial message: the government is now looking at inclusive growth.

In selecting states such as Mizoram and Manipur, which tend to feel marginalized in the national politics arena, Modi also highlighted his government policy of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.

Conclusion

The speeches made by the Prime Minister concluded the tour on September 15 in Bihar, and one of the resounding themes was development that would seal the gaps among regions. This is a five-state visit by Modi that is an indication that the northeast and east will be aggressively incorporated into the larger growth story in India as project values of close to 72000 crore and three new express trains are now underway.

To the citizens of these states, the announcements are not just statistics and plans but it is the promise of a brighter infrastructure, employment and a brighter future.
