Sri Lanka beats Bangladesh by 6 Wickets: Asia Cup -As It Happened.

Sri Lanka began their Asia Cup with a comfortable six-wicket victory against Bangladesh in a Group B match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. By choosing to bat first, Sri Lanka held Bangladesh to 139/5 in 20 overs. Bangladesh could not gain any momentum with disciplined bowling by Wanindu Hasaranga (2/25), Matheesha Pathirana, and Maheesh Theekshana despite resolute knock by Shamim Hossain (42+) and Jaker Ali (41).

In pursuit 140, Sri Lanka sped up. Pathum Nissanka was the star of a 50 off 34 balls and made his 2,000th T20I run and was the quickest Sri Lankan to do so. Kamil Mishara was not beaten, he made 43, and his team won the match with more than five overs to go.
