The Subarnapur district of Odisha has been reported of a heartbreaking incident where the old man was swept into the high waters of a river when taking a bath. The search to rescue him still goes on.


Local sources say that 72-year-old resident of the village of Khandhata, under the police limits of Subalaya, went to take a bath in the stream of the Baigani on Tuesday morning. The stream had floodwater at the time owing to massive rainfall in the region. The unfortunate thing was that Murali fell down as he took a bath, and was swept along in the rapid stream.


Villagers and family members have begun to search for him at once, but they have been unsuccessful. They later reported the matter to the authorities and the **Birmaharajpur fire service team** came in to help in search. The elderly man has not been found yet, although hours have been spent in search of him.


The authorities have assured that the search will go on today. In the meantime, locals have been complaining about the rising water levels and the administration took necessary steps of ensuring that safety is adopted in the event of such tragedies happening.


The risk of such incidences has increased due to continuous rainfall in the area compelling the authorities to provide safety advisory. The community believes that Murali can be discovered in the nearest future and additional measures would be taken to secure the safety of the people.
